The illegal street race between the 2 sports cars going more than 100 mph caused significant bodily and property damage in Las Vegas.
A street race between a Toyota Supra and a C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray ended in a 7-vehicle wreck in Las Vegas. More information including photos of the wreckage are available on the YouTube Channel for KLAS Channel 8 News.
While there were no deaths in the accident, one individual is in the hospital. The driver of one of the supercars is facing charges of reckless driving and street racing.
The Las Vegas Metro police department says the drivers of a Toyota Supra and a C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray were racing at speeds over 100 mph.
The two vehicles caused an accident that involved seven vehicles near the intersection of Fort Apache and Flamingo roads. Police say debris from the crash scattered for a quarter mile down the road.
When officers arrived, they saw smoke coming from a transformer, three vehicles with major damage, and other vehicles with minor to moderate damage.
Photos from the scene show an overturned white Corvette with significant damage to the front end. Another image shows extensive damage to the driver's side of a black Supra, along with deployed airbags.
This accident happened near where Henry Ruggs crashed his C8 Chevrolet Corvette earlier this year while traveling over 150 mph. Ruggs rear-ended a Toyota RAV4, killing the driver and her dog.
